About Sophorn

Who I am

Sophorn Family

I’m a science geek working in R&D lab for almost a decade, and a mom to my mischievous son. I love science and learning. That is why I love to understand what goes on my skin. On my free time, I love to cook a feast, travel locally or internationally, workout (Jazzercise, Zumba, yoga and strength training) and spending time with my little family.

How I stumbled on K-Beauty Products

Before I turned 30, my skin routine was 2 to 3 steps (morning: cleansing, moisturizing and sun screen; night: cleansing and moisturizing). My skin was okay. When I was in my late 20s while being pregnant for the first time, I become more curious on the ingredients that go into my skin care products. My skin was also very dull, dry and has slight fine line. I had always used American products.

One day when I was watching my K-drama (I’m a fan), I noticed that the actresses have very nice dewy skin. I google everything, so I just googled Korean skin care products. There are too many options and I got lost. So I began to do my own research. I look at ingredients, review, the company brands, etc. Since then, I have been using Korean skin care products for over 4 year now.

The results seem promising. I have combination skin with generic freckle in my upper cheek and oil T-zone. The products do help me to get more glow, dewy and even skin tone but I don’t see any effect on my freckle. Even then, I haven’t looked back!
