Wrinkles, wrinkles, please go away!

Most of us will at hit a point in our lives when we want our skin to slow down on aging. Lucky for some of us that might have born with a good gene but even then we are still seeking anti-aging cream to keep those fine lines and wrinkles at bay.

But why do we get wrinkle? Initially wrinkle starts from our facial expression and combination of other factors. There are many factors come in play but the main one is sun exposure.

In the western world, who doesn’t love to bathe in the sun? Getting a tan actually means your are enjoying a life and can afford to being the sun. It is a sign of luxury. But can we avoid the sun? Yes your can but then your sacrifice your health. Our body needs the vitamin D which essential for our bone growth. So what can we do if we want to be in the sun and preventing wrinkle?

The first step is protection. Wear sunscreen all year long even if your don’t go outside or even if it’s winter and reapply if your have longer exposure. In addition, when your are outside wear a hat if your can.

Second is prevention. I also believe in holistic approach to anti wrinkle which mean flight aging internally and externally. Stop or reduce habits that leave your skin vulnerable to wrinkle like smoking, lacking of sleep, too much sweet, etc.

Third is correcting. That when the wrinkle treatments come in play. Type treatments depends on the severity of the wrinkle. Cream works best for early stage of wrinkle like fine lines. But it is not an instant result! For deeper crease, your might need to consider professional cosmetic treatment.

Never too early to start! I already kinda a little late on the train of anti-aging routine. I started incorporated wrinkle cream into my routine in my late 20s. I have some fine lines around my lip, eyes and forehead mostly due to facial expression. I don’t usually go into the sun much because I can easily get dark spots and my freckles get darker. I religiously use sunscreen all year round even though we don’t get much sun here in the Midwest.

From my experiences and researches, I look for creams that help build collagen and moisturize the skin. Low production of collagen is the main cause of wrinkle formation and skin aging. Dry skin tends to be more vulnerable. Combination of the two come hand in hand.

The top ingredient that proven to promote the growth and restoration of collagen are Retinoids (retinol and tretinoin), Glycolic Acid (Alpha hydroxy acids), Vitamin C and ginsenosides. I tend to stay about from retinoids cream because dryness and irritation side effect. The superstar ingredients that help with water retention and hydration are hyaluronic acid, glycerin and ceramide.

I tend to stay about from retinoids cream because dryness and irritation side effect. My favorite ingredients are probably vitamin C and hyaluronic acid.
